Girls share hair, gift confidence to cancer survivors

Green Trends Salon held its Hair Donation Campaign – SHAIR on Wednesday here in through which it encouraged women to donate a lock of hair so that it could be used to make wigs for cancer surviving underprivileged people.

For those who survive cancer, second chance at life is a gift from God. But mostly after treatment their loss of hair due to heavy medicines and chemo don’t just cast an emotional scar but make them lose their confidence. Through Shair, Green Trends is trying to make people support the survivors.

PSG IM which has been encouraging their students to donate their hair for cancer patients for 4 years came forward to support this campaign. Around 100 students are expected to give their hair. Expert hairstylists from Green Trends cut the hair as per the wishes of the students.

Talking about this campaign, Jayaraj, Area Manager – Tamil Nadu, Green Trends said this campaign is going on across the country in 100+ cities on this day. So far 500 wigs have been produced and he mentioned that in a few month, Cavin Kare, the parent company of Green Trends will oversee that the hair reaches the needed people in hospital and other places as wigs. Donors of the college said that Green Trends has not changed their look or style, instead given them a chance to support the needy.

Certificate of appreciation was given to each donor along with a pink clip-on hair extension to honor them for supporting cancer survivors.

A press release from Green Trends mentioned that from Feb 4 to March 4, 2020 those are willing to donate can walk into any Green Trends salon and donate their hair for free.
