Patriots’ traits should be followed by youth of India – Dr.K.N.Raja Rao

The School of Engineering of Avinashilingam Institute located in the second campus, celebrated the 71 st Republic Day with flag hoisting and parade on 26 th Jan 2020 with great solemnity. As is the practice of the Institute, all staff members and students take part in the parade and salute the flag donning the white kadhi saree, the uniform of the Institute.

Dr.Gowri Ramakrishnan, Trustee, The Avinashilingam Education Trust and former Registrar, Avinashilingam Deemed University, hoisted the National Flag. After the Flag salute and parade, she administered the oath. All students and staff pledged to uphold the honour and integrity of the nation.

Student representatives read verses on courage from the three Holy texts – Bhagvad Gita in Sanskrit along with its English translation, Holy Bible in English and Holy Quran in Urdu along with its English translation English. Dr. K. N. Raja Rao, Director, School of Engineering, delivered the Republic day message in which he recalled the patriotic traits of the freedom fighters that are of relevance even today and which need to be practiced by the
youth of this country.

He said that students especially women are the greatest asset to our country and they have to train themselves with commitment and determination in a scientific manner. Scientific does not directly mean science but means systematic or methodical way of doing tasks. These traits when inculcated diligently will naturally contribute to building the future of the country.
