Canvases carry Dimensions of Divinity

Yet another eye-arresting art exhibition is being hosted by Art Houz, Coimbatore; this time on a deeper theme – Divinity. 20 +artists from different parts of Tamil Nadu and from neighboring states have exhibited their paper sculptures, Installations, wooden statues, small figurines, and of course paintings. The preview of the exhibition was held on 9.10.2019. Swathy Rohit, CBO, SNR& Sons Charitable Trust was the Chief Guest. She inaugurated the event along with the Guest of Honor Aparna Suren, Manager- Admin, PNR Housing.

The myriad hues of the artwork united by a single theme proposed the singularity of the Divine. To know more we engaged with a few artists.

Sampath Kumar, who has exhibited three of his Installation Works, said “I have chosen Light as the prominent factor in highlighting the theme. Without light, there would not be any life or path. I have connected divinity via light”. His exhibit Navagraha is the one to be not missed. What appears to be a simple arrangement of 9 planets turns into aura of energy when light wades through it.

G.Saravanan’s The Great Nothing advocates the philosophy of ‘being humble’, he says any one can attain Godliness if he could lower himself. He says finding God would not be a difficult task if we could train our eyes to see him in his creations.

Artist Jegajeyakumar brought out a picturesque portrayal of a sage meditating near a falls, acquiring inner peace. Commenting on his drawing in focus, Jegajeyakumar said  “the concept stemmed from the mythical divine wish-giving tree- Kalpavriksha.  When we calm our mind, we can certainly make ourselves a living Kalpavriksha”. A friend of him added “the process of attaining such peace requires aids like Yoga”. The rendition is extraordinarily done which now words could do justice, you will have to see for yourself.

Veena Sanoj’s  The Bliss of Soul depicts the divine bliss of a woman. When enquired about her painting, she said “I have put a radiating woman in the center. A strong aura of bliss and energy emerges from the woman and spreads across the world and keeps it happy”.

Renowned artist from Coimbatore ‘Oviyar’ Jeeva was one of the guests visiting the gallery. He said “vivid imagination and attention is needed to bring to life such a complex theme. All the exhibits have come out really well, and some of the portraits are exceptionally done.”

There are many other incredible art works from artists from various parts of India (Deepa Shah, Dr.Manveen Kaur, Gangadharan, Himpreet Singh Bhalla, Isaiarasi, Kalpana.B, Karthi, Krishnan, )that will be available for your viewing pleasure in Art Houz from 10.10.2019 to 21.10.2019 excluding Sundays.
