Tamil Nadu Government has cautioned the schools in the state that there must not be any errors or discrepancy while distributing the Government’s Free Laptop to the school children.
In very few cases, we hear that some school children have not received their respective laptops. Tamil Nadu’s Free Laptop for students is a very popular scheme in the state. The scheme that came into existence since 2011 has been one of the eagerly sought schemes from the student community. Earlier in June 2019 M.Manikandan, the then Minister of Information Technology (who was recently dropped from the cabinet by CM Edappadi K.Palaniswami ) said that all high school graduates belonging to the academic years 2017-18 and 2018-19 will receive their laptops from the government.
It was announced on 19.8.2019 by the government of Tamil Nadu that in case if any mistakes arise in distribution of laptops to the students, the Chief Education Officer of the district and the Principal of the school will be held accountable.
