The State of Tamil Nadu is experiencing heavy rain in various parts of the state. The Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai has said that Tamil Nadu will witness Light to moderate rain in few places till 11.8.2019 (Sunday)

On 10-08-2019, heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over ghat areas of Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts. With the state’s several districts experiencing serious water shortages , conserving the rain water and proper management in storing and distribution could help in time of crisis.

According to The World Resources Institute’s (WRI) Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas 2019, 17 countries in the world face the threat of ‘Day Aero’ , which  could soon hit India as well. Day Zero is a scenario wherein there won’t be any water in the taps of houses or any places.

A dearth of water supply is predicted to happen soon in Qatar, Israel, Lebanon, Iran, Jordan, Libya, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Eritrea, UAE, San Marino, Bahrain, India, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Oman and Botswana. The team behind the compilation of data has said that the one o the reason behind the shortage of water in India is due to over-withdrawing of water for agriculture, Industry and municipalities. Groundwater is also largely withdrawn that is leading to a crisis, says the report.
