The International Yoga Day Celebrations happened in the presence of Adiyogi on a grand scale, with the participation of around 1500 people including soldiers from BSF & RAF, ashram residents, students of Isha’s schools, Isha volunteers from all over the world, students from public schools and the general public.
The dignitaries that graced the occasion include Durga Charan Das, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Coimbatore, Krishnan, MD, Krishna Sweets, Coimbatore, GR Reddy,IRS, Principle Commissioner of Income Tax, Coimbatore, Sundara Kumar, Deputy Commandant, RAF, Shri Kamlesh Kumar, Deputy Commandant, BSF and Ashok Rai, Commodore, INS Agrani.
The program started with the performance of Yoga Padi and other music by Sounds of Isha, and included speeches by the chief guests and a yoga session where all present were guided through the practice of Upa-yoga and Nadi Shuddhi.
