Time Magazine releases 100 most influential people of 2019; Just 2 Indians make the list

Time, an American weekly News magazine which is known for its worldwide fame and value has released its 16th annual ‘Top 100’ Most Influential people in the world.  The list features 5 categories: Pioneers, Artists, Leaders, Icons and Titans.

Only three Indians were featured in the Time 100 Most Influential people list. In the Pioneers list, Arundhati Katju &Menaka Guruswamy who played an incredible role in repeal of Section 377 which was an outdated law that prohibited all sexual activities that is not of the natural order. The two fearless lawyers battled for the LGBTQ+ community and won them justice.

The other Indian who made it in the list was Billionaire Mukesh Ambani in the Titans category.  Mukesh’s promise to bring the world to his people has become true with his Reliance Jio Mobile Network. A truly smart investor and the most successful Indian Businessman, Mukesh has been a role model to many aspiring young entrepreneurs.

Other well-known faces in the list included many leaders from World nations. Newly elected PM of Pakistan, Imran Khan, one of China’s senior politicians Xi Jinping, the President of China and some celebrities and sports-stars have made the list.

Hollywood celebrities naturally have an effect and a strong influence over people on a global level but when it comes to making it to the Time 100 list, their Résumé as an actor alone wouldn’t do. Their incredible story, the value they have added to the industry and to the society at large by being an inspiration, rendering morale support, advocating for equality and other aids are all taken into consideration.
