Ntl.Workshop on Water Management & Conservation at KPRIEnT

A One day National Workshop on Water Management and Conservation in commemoration of World Water Day was held at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIEnT), recently.

This event was jointly organized by Departments of Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemistry in association with Indian Desalination Association (InDA).  Purnima Jalihal, Head (Energy & Water), NIOT, & Chairperson, InDA (SZ), was the Chief Guest and gave a keynote address.

  1. M. Natarajan, Chief Executive, KPRIEnT, presided over the function and released the InDA newsletter. K. Bommanna Raja, Principal, KPRIEnT offered felicitation.

Lectures were given by Prabhakar, Vice chairman, InDA(SZ) on Role of Membrane Technology in Desalination and Water Treatment, Nalini, Environmental Engineer, TNPCB, Coimbatore on Efficient Recycle and Reuse of Effluent water, R. S. Krishnaswamy, Convenor, Water body Restoration Committee, Siruthuli, coimbatore on Water body Restoration and their societal impact   and S. Ramachandran, HoD, Chemical Engineering Department on Technological Frontiers for Desalination of  Brackish & Sea Water for use in Industry, Agriculture and Domestic  Consumption.

Around 170 students and 20 faculty members attended the program which was well received.
