PUBG craze makes Indian boy steal Rs. 50,000

PUBG is the latest mobile video game that has made the headlines in many nations for many reasons. Its latest reason for being in the headlines in India is an unusual and alarming one. A boy from Jalandhar, who has been so attracted to the video game made a purchase of Rs.50,000 to buy PUBG Skins –  a set of costumes and accessories to be added to the player’s character in the game.

Well this boy is a son of bike mechanic and the money he stole was from his own father. This boy stole the money using his dad’s smartphone, used a digital transaction app, sent the money to a different account and made the purchases. The boy erased all the transaction messages from the bank side that were sent to his father.

Alarmed of losing such a sum and not knowing it was his own son who had taken his money, the poor father registered a complaint and after the police intervened in this mystery, it got unfolded. The father after learning the truth, dropped the charges.

What we have learned from incidents such as this is the young population have little knowledge or value of their money or their parents’. Getting back the paid amount could be another heartbreak the father has to deal.
