Dr.N.G.P. Arts & Science College, under DBT STAR college scheme conducted a 2-day national symposium recently.
The event was designed to instill the importance of research in the young minds and to nourish and nurture their skills to become future scientists.
The Chief Guests for the occasion was Prof. Dr. Roshan Delabandara, Secretary, Nutrition Society of Sri Lanka. The Guests of Honour were A.V. Gnanasambadam, CEO, TNAU, Coimbatore and T. Poongodi Vijaykumar, Periyar University, Salem.
During the morning the invited guests delivered special lectures while in the afternoon, the session was purely technical where the young researchers who were all under graduate students presented their findings with lot of enthusiasm and confidence awaiting exciting rewards.
Dr. Varadharaju Chandrasekar, MD, Bioline Laboratory and Research Institute was the keynote speaker of the second day. During the symposium, the participating students presented their findings in front of the judges. During the valedictory, the prizes were distributed in the category of basic sciences, bio sciences and applied sciences which was bagged by both outside participants and internal participants.
