A National Conference on Advanced Materials in Waste Management was held at Dr. N.G.P. Institute of Technology, recently. Around 200 participants from various educational institutions, research centers and industry presented their research work in this conference.
The programme commenced with the Welcome address by C. Kailasam, Director, Science and Humanities. K.Porkumaran, Principal, Dr. N.G.P. IT felicitated the event. Kurian Joseph, Professor, Centre for Environmental Studies, Anna University, Chennai, gave a speech on the topic “Recover Resources from Solid Waste”.
Geethalakshmi, Director, Crop Management, TNAU, Coimbatore, spoke on “Solid Waste and Climate Change: Perception and Possibilities”. The last session was handled by Raman Sivakumar, Scientist, Mak India Ltd., Erode on “A Patent Technology in Eco Friendly Methods to Convert Municipal Solid Wastes to Zero Wastes”.
The Vote of thanks was proposed by M. Saravanabhavan.
