Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore has signed a MoU with Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB), Coimbatore (Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE)), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, GoI, New Delhi) to enhance interdisciplinary, research, students and faculty exchange programmes, capacity building of human resources, collaborative research and conduct of academic and extension activities between both Institutions.
The MoU was signed in the presence of C.A.Vasuki, Secretary and Director, KASC, Dr. Mohit Gera, IFS, Director (IFGTB), Coimbatore, V. Balasubramaniam, Principal,K. Chinnuswamy, CEO, S.Paulsamy, Dean (Academics and R & D), J. Karthikeyan, Head (Biochemistry) and Nodal Officer for MoU, KASC, Rajesh Gopalan, IFS, Conservator of Forests (CF), Head-Extension, IFGTB, N. Senthilkumar, Scientist-E (Bioprospecting), IFGTB and Nodal Officer for MoU (IFGTB).
The MoU aims to provide Research collaboration in the areas of biosciences like molecular biology, bio prospecting and allied areas of biosciences, Symposia and much more.
