Amazon Boosts MSME Exports

Amazon India has partnered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, to boost e-commerce exports and support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines collaborative efforts to provide capacity-building sessions and training for MSMEs across 75 districts identified by DGFT. The initiative aligns with the Districts as Export Hubs plan introduced in March 2023, aiming to connect local producers with global supply chains. The focus is on educating MSMEs about e-commerce exports, with Amazon facilitating access to third-party service providers for imaging, digital cataloging, tax advisory, and more. The collaboration seeks to empower Indian entrepreneurs in building e-commerce export businesses and global brands, contributing to the goal of achieving $200-300 billion in e-commerce exports from India by 2030.
