TNAU Digital Agriculture Training Program

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University’s Directorate of Extension Education, in collaboration with the National Bank Staff College (NBSC), Lucknow, initiated a three-day training for NABARD’s Senior Officials (GM & DGM) on “Digital Agriculture, Use of Internet of Things (IoT), and Innovative Agriculture” on November 27, 2023.

Murugan, Director of Extension Education, and Suresh Kumar, Director of Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development Studies (CARDS) extended a warm welcome, highlighting past successful collaborations between TNAU and NABARD.

The training addressed challenges and opportunities in Digital Farming, emphasizing innovative approaches to reach small and marginal farmers through IoT. NBSC staff emphasized the practical implementation of technologies at the farm level, particularly for smaller farmers, utilizing NABARD’s farm sector promotion funds.

Anandaraja, Professor and Head of the Training Division, provided insights into the training’s theoretical and practical sessions, setting the stage for a comprehensive learning experience.
