There should be a strong alternative to BJP – Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena Leader

2024 general election in India already has huge hype among the concerned members of our Indian population and politics. While there is speculation that Rahul Gandhi may not go head to head against incumbent Narendra Modi, there is a growing debate that Rahul should unite every ally, near and distant to face off BJP.

While CM of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee said UPA is over, Sanjay Raut who is considered one of the veterans of Shiv Sena said that there should not be just one alternative to BJP but a strong large coalition, and Rahul has to take up initiative and unite all parties to face BJP.

“I don’t think the UPA is over. Mamata Banerjee has an old conflict with Congress. Our conflict should be with the Union government. We can fight with each other later. I told Rahulji that he should take initiative [to bring all opposition parties together]. If there is a party at home, we have to invite the guests. They won’t come on their own. There are several parties that could join the UPA. He (Rahul) should go to them and invite them. Mamata Banerjee is going everywhere. Those who want to join will come. Several southern parties are part of the UPA. There is no marketing being done of the UPA. We have to market it,” Mr.Raut said in an exclusive interview with India Today, recently.

Mr.Raut had met Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka recently, and he said Rahul was very positive to his suggestion, and also expressed that some of the Congress’ seniors are being obstacles.

“I sense Rahul Gandhi is not comfortable because of the seniors in his party and their style of working. When the party becomes weak, no one listens to you. Congress seniors are not willing to give up their position and are not allowing Rahul Gandhi to work. This is my understanding. He (Rahul Gandhi) is an example of how a leader at the top position [sometimes] gets suffocated [in his own party],” Mr.Raut said.
