CODISSIA submits memorandum to Industries Minister

CODISSIA President Ramesh Babu met Tamil Nadu Minister for Industries Thangam Thennarasu and Minister for Rural Industries Anbarasan, during their visit to Coimbatore recently, and submitted a memorandum underlining various needs of the industries in the district.

On behalf of the industries CODISSIA appealed for revision of Master Plan for Coimbatore which is pending since 1994, introduction of Single window clearance by a suitable software system for sanctioning of building approvals, release of outstanding payment from PSUs and other Government sectors to MSMEs, deferment of property tax, professional tax, licence fees, Pollution Control Board Fees and all Statutory payments by another six months till 31.03.2022 without any penalty or interests and to waive off Minimum charges for LT Consumers and Maximum Demand Charges for HT consumers.

Elimination of inspector Raj in Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) and acceptance of self-Declarations by individual MSE unit. Establishment of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for electronic manufacturing, setting up a Defence testing Center in the Tamil Nadu Defence corridor under the Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme (DTIS) with an outlay of Rs. 400 crore for creating state of the art testing infrastructure for the Defence sector and Coimbatore is an ideal destination to start such testing facility.

Waiver of Minimum Charges for LT Consumers and Maximum Demand Charges for HT consumers, the establishment of a Mega Industrial Estate of about 1000-1500 acres in Coimbatore to be promoted by SIDCO among other requests.
