Opportunities are endless but you have to decide- Mahalakshmi Saravanan.

SRCW celebrates 29th College Day

“To be fearless we need to empower ourselves. That doesn’t happen easily. There will be challenges but how you handle challenges matter”. Delivering such motivating words was Mahalakshmi Saravanan, Founder, Women Entrepreneurs India. She addressed nearly 2000 students of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women which celebrated its 29th College Day on Wednesday.

D.Lakshminarayanaswamy, Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust presided over the function.

Dr.D.Padmavathi, Vice Principal, SRCW welcomed the gathering. Dr.K.Chitra presented the Annual Report. Two notable highlights of this year’s accomplishment includes the college’s BCA and BBA courses being ranked by India Today as the Best, and the College securing its place in Top 200 in NIRF.

D.Lakshminarayaswamy appreciated the College for its accomplishments in academics and extracurriculars, and mentioned that the college is being a robust environment to hone the students’ mind and test their mettle.

Talking about women he said that Women in the defence force are one fine example to show how valuable they are to this world. Advising the soon to be graduates, he wished them to be courteous, respect everyone, show kindness and uphold their dignified character.

He wished them to always pursue what they identify as good in their career and aspirations. “Be your own Masters”, he stressed. “Be active, alive and Adventurous; Boisterous, Brave and Bold; Confident, Cool; Daring and Determined; Eager and Earnest, Free thinking, Fresh, Fun-loving and most of all be yourself” he advised.

Mahalakshmi conveyed to the student-gathering that becoming an entrepreneur is not an alternative to job employement. Entrepreneurship requires passion. One needs to identify her talent and her skills, then reskill herself. “Reskilling is the need of the hour”, she emphasized. “There is no secret to success but the secret to failure is trying to impress others”. She asked them to not doubt themselves and come out of their comfort zones. She suggested them to not lose their spirit due to failure and carping criticisms.
