Implementing 5S is the Japanese methodology of minimizing errors. It is a good way for organizations & institutions to get familiar with continuous improvement cycles by involving their members to organize and improve the institution’s conditions.
5S stands for 5 individual s-words, namely sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain. The Department of Management Studies of Dr. N.G.P Institute of Technology in association with the Management Association “Equiliber” signed a MoU with Quality Circle Forum of India ( QCFI) Coimbatore Chapter recently.
Dr.J.Mohanasundari, Chairperson, W.S.Satchidanandam, Patron, S.Yogeshwari, Secretary & Treasurer, QCFI Coimbatore Chapter were the chief guests for the program. Dr.K.Porkumaran, Principal in his speech presented the importance of quality and 5s implementation in the college premises.
Dr. R. Rajendra Kumar, Head, Department of Management Studies, Dr.NGP IT explained about objectives and necessity of quality. The chief guests addressed about the importance of quality for faculty and students in all the aspects. The college mentioned that it is planning about the inauguration of student chapter for Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) in this academic year.
