IV Edition of Indian Cyber Congress held at SKCET

Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET), Kuniamuthur, Coimbatore in association with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India inaugurated the Indian Cyber Congress (INCYCON) Edition IV – an initiative by National Cyber Safety & Security Standards, New Delhi on Saturday at its college premise recently.  Justice Dipak Misra, Former Chief Justice of India was the Chief Guest and addressed the audience.

He said that the Supreme Court reiterated the Constitutional Sovereignty whenever the questions are raised about it.  He said that it is duty of every Indian citizen to maintain the Sovereignty and Integrity. He insisted that India should also carve to have a cyber space like other countries to overcome the problems regarding to cyber crimes. He also advised the society to allow youngsters to enhance their imagination. He reiterated that Artificial Intelligence is a useful tool and advised the participants to use it as a slave as one intend and not allow it to become master.

He also said that one have to utilize the focus and unified brain to be faster than and master of Artificial Intelligence and Robots. He said that a legal jurisprudence is declared to be developed by technical and law expert so that we are alienated from other countries. He said that India Ranks 23rd among 165 Nations in cybersecurity index and still there is lot of space to grow in future. Quoting a scene from the movie ‘A WEDENESDAY‘ he said that internet can be used for constructive work. He asked the colleges to include cyberspace in their syllabus. He also insisted the students to attend the classes of cyber space delivered by experts.

Justice K.N Basha, Former Judge, Madras High Court and Former Chairman – Intellectual Property Appellate Board, Dr. M. Ravi IPS., Additional Director General of Police, Crime Against Women and Children, Government of Tamil Nadu and Dr. E. Khalieraaj, Additional Director – General, National Cyber Safety and Security Standards, New Delhi were the Guests of Honour and spoke in the cyber edition meeting.

Dr.M.Ravi in his speech said that cyber crime is the biggest challenge for any country than terrorism. Quoting the cyber attack of USA on Iran which took the later a decade back in nuclear weapon he said that many such uninformed war is happening between countries. Naming some website which uses internet in adverse way, he said that internet has become an instrument to commit crime and suicide. He said that this event will give an clear insight about the problem in cyber security which helps one to find solution for it.

Justice K.N Basha, Former Judge, Madras High Court and Former Chairman – Intellectual Property Appellate Board in his speech said Judiciary and police officials have to be given training in the area of cyber security. He advised the students and participants to stay away from the Internet fraudulent. He felt sad to share that Tamil Nadu is one of the prime victim that loses money due to cyber fraudulent. He congratulated Tamil Nadu police for their immediate actions cyber crimes.

Dr. E. Khalieraaj, Additional Director – General, National Cyber Safety and Security Standards, New Delhi, in his speech he thanked  Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu  Edappaadi Palanisami for forming a separate team to crime against women and children. He congratulated Dr. M. Ravi who is the Additional Director General of Police, Crime Against Women and Children for bringing dramatic change in Tamil Nadu. He advised youngsters to avoid posting sensual messages in social media. He thanked  Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi for forming social media monitoring committee to monitor the posting in social media and search engine. He requested Dr. M. Ravi to create more cyberpark police station to take immediate action against cyber crime and to appoint counselor in every cyberpark police station to counsel the victim.

Meanwhile S. Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Sri Krishna Institutions presided over the programme, while Dr.J.Janet, Principal of the college welcomed the gathering and finally Dr.J.P.Ananth, Controller of Examinations  of the college proposed a vote of thanks. About 500 participants across the nation attended the event.
