SNMV College welcomes freshers through Swajith 2019

Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science conducted the Induction ceremony, ‘Swajith 2019’ to welcome the first year UG students on 1st July 2019.

Subramani, Principal of the college, welcomed the dignitaries, students, parents and staff members. Ramesh C. Bafna, President, CWA (Coimbatore Welfare Association) & SNMV, presided over the function and in his address he mentioned the inspiring lives of Abdul Kalam and Sundar Pichai and highlighted the facilities of the college, the newly introduced IAS Academy and a Central and State Government sponsored free skill training programme (DDU-GKY), which aims in transforming rural poor youth into an economically independent and globally relevant workforce.

Bharathkumar Jaghamani, Secretary, SNMV, offered felicitations and pointed out that the college will provide all the opportunities that align with the students’ interest and passion.

The Chief Guest, N. Shanmugam, Former President, Malumachampatti Panchayat, emphasized the importance of education and its impact on a student’s life. He wished the students to become good citizens of the society and to bring laurels to their parents and institution. This ensued with the pledge being taken by the students that they will abide by the rules of the college . This was followed by the Parents- Teachers Meet where  S. Kavunthi, HoD, Mathematics, explained the importance of discipline, dress code, placement opportunities, internal test, remedial classes and the multifaceted activities going on in the college.
