KASC i-HUB and PG & Research Department of Biotechnology, Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore organized Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) Coimbatore Chapter, sponsored “One Day Extension Training Programme on Bonsai Techniques” at Home Garden, Mettupalayam, Coimbatore.
Bhuvaneshwari, Asst Prof and Head in Biotechnology welcomed the gathering. Organizing Secretary of this workshop, R. Amsaveni, Asst Prof in Biotechnology highlighted the theme of the Programme.
The main objectives of this training programme is to make the young and aspiring candidates to involve in Hands-on training on Bonsai techniques and to develop entrepreneurial skills to set up Bonsai units as a self-employment activity. Lecture on “Bonsai, an art and its opportunities” was delivered by H. Abdul Kaffoor, Asst Prof and Nature Conservationist, and A. Venkatachalapathi, Asst.Prof in Botany, Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore.
Hands on training on Bonsai techniques were given by H. Abdul Kaffoor. Vote of Thanks was proposed by R. Amsaveni, Organizing Secretary of this workshop. About 20 participants including Students and staff have benefited out of this training.
