Over 1 lakh people participate in ‘Maha Aarthi Festival‘

Dakshina Foundation (DF), a Coimbatore based Non-Profit Organization conducted ‘Neeruku Nandri’ – The Maha Aarthi Vizha. It is an annual event organised by DF and spearheaded by Mithreshiva, the founder of the organization.

Maha Aarthi has been the way of expressing gratitude to Mother Ganga and other perennial rivers which have never dried up.
To encourage this good culture of expressing gratitude in Tamil Nadu, DF organised the Maha Aarthi festival at Bhavani Kooduthurai on January 6, 2019 (Sunday) at 4:00 am and 4:00 pm.

101 “Kalasams” (pots) of water were taken in a procession at 3:00 pm on January 6 along with the Chendai Melam. Cultural dances glorifying water, Shingari Melam and other  traditional cultural programmes were a visual treat which were followed by a thought provoking speech by  Mithreshiva.

The Maha Aarthi festival was conducted at 6:00 pm in the same manner as it happens on the banks of River Ganga. The priests who traditionally conduct the Aarthi at the Ganges for years in accordance with customs, conducted the same proceedings here. Over a lakh of people participated and celebrated the Maha aarthi festival which proved to be divine experience.

Special guests Tamilnadu Environmental Minister K.C.Karupannan, Justice G.R.Swaminathan, Guruji Mithreshiva, Dakshina Foundation, Vasantha shiva, K.G.Bhakthavatsalam, K.G.Hospital, K.Ramasamy Roots Industries, Purushothaman, Deepa Medicals, Surya Kailash, Kailash Industries presided the function.
