Montra Electric, the clean mobility arm of the Murugappa Group, unveiled its E-27 electric tractor at Agri Intex 2025 one of India’s leading agricultural trade exhibitions at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore.

The Montra Electric E-27 is India’s first agriculture electric tractor that has received ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) certification.

Developed as a zero-emission, low-maintenance alternative to diesel-powered tractors, the E-27 is intended for a range of farm operations including tilling, ploughing, spraying, and haulage.

On the unveiling of the electric tractor at the Agri Intex 2025, Jalaj Gupta, Managing Director, Montra Electric (TI Clean Mobility), said: “With India’s growing focus on electric mobility and clean energy adoption, it’s time for farming equipment to also evolve and innovate.
