Focus is on World T20 at Australia

A new T20 team is in the making with the T20 World Cup not away and Skipper Carlos Brathwaite is leaving no stone overturned. Chris Gayle made himself unavailable for selection for the T20I series in India in order to play the T10 league while Evin Lewis backed out citing personal reasons. Dwayne Bravo announced his retirement shocking all cricket lovers. The Windies have also lost Andre Russell to an unspecified injury and all these developments comes before the three-match series begins at Kolkata.

The West Indies’ T20I specialists began their preparation at the Eden Gardens. Under the leadership of Carlos Braithwaite, a young Caribbean team has a big task at hand which is to deliver against India in their own den. Except for Kieron Pollard and Braithwaite, most others don’t carry big star power even though they have shown their potential.

The skipper though mentioned clearly that they are already in the process of building a team that would help them defend their title by injecting youth.

This also broadens the pool of players before going into the Twenty20 World Cup.
