ABIS Conducts FPO Management Training for Farmers at TNAU

The Agribusiness Incubation Society (ABIS) – Technology Business Incubator (TBI) in coordination with the Directorate of Agribusiness Development, TNAU, conducted a three-day training program on “FPO Management” under Tamil Nadu Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium (TNSFAC) by Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agri Business (DAMAB) recently in Coimbatore.

Somasundaram, Director, ABD inaugurated the training. Gnansambandam, CEO – ABIS welcomed the participants of the training.

Around 80 farmers from FPOs in Coimbatore, Tirupur, and Erode districts participated. The program covered topics such as organic FPO formation, FPCs under the Companies Act, statutory compliances, export potential, governance, financial statements, leadership development, and horticultural crop value addition. The training aimed to address challenges faced by startup FPOs and promote their growth as agri-entrepreneurs. Similar trainings are being conducted by TNSFAC with the support of TNAU for members of 318 Farmer Producer Organizations.
