KASC organized Millets Conclave

The year 2023 has been declared by the United Nations as the “International Year of the Millet”. Hence, Millet’s conclave entitled “Native millets for sustainable health” was organized by the Department of Biochemistry in association with Tamil millets, Coimbatore sponsored by Indian Science Congress (ISCA), Coimbatore chapter on Wednesday at Kongunadu Arts and Science College (KASC), Coimbatore. As a part of this program millets-based stalls of various brands Anil, Idhyam, Jeeni, etc., has been exhibited at the college campus.

Dr Paulsamy, R&D Dean and Convenor, ISCA, Coimbatore Chapter, inaugurated the program. Dr Aruna, MBBS, DPH Deputy Director of Health Services Coimbatore HUB, Dr Nalayini, Principal Scientist, ICAR-Central Institute of Cotton Research (CICR), Coimbatore and Rtn. Sundar, MBA, Sales and marketing Architect-FMCS, Food industry, Founder and CEO of Millet Foundation and TanMillet’s, Coimbatore were the Keynote speakers.  The chief guests have released 10Rs. millets snacks packet and the sample snacks have been distributed to the students.
