National Conference on Microbial Research held at SNMV CAS

The Department of Microbiology of SNMV College of Arts and Science organized a National Conference Microfie’23 on “Essential Trends in Microbial Research ” on Friday at Mahaveers Auditorium to enlighten the students, about the current trends on Microbial Research and drugs for diseases like Tuberculosis and Toxins Etc.

 

Bhakyaraj, Head, Department of Microbiology, Subramani, Principal, SNMV CAS, Muthukumar, Director SNMV IM, Meenatchisundaram, Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology, Radha, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology addressed this event. The chief guest of the event was Anup Kumar Kesavan, Professor and Head, Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology, Kannur University Kerala, delivered the lecture on “Latency and reactivation of Tuberculosis in a rabbit model of infection “.

 

Guest of honour, Manoj, Founder and Principal Scientist, Universal Snakebite Education and Research Organization Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu explained the different types of venomous snakes and innovative detection methods of snake venoms and the treatment process of snake envenomation. Department of Microbiology also signed MOU with Universal Snakebite Education and Research Organization for Research and Publications.

 

Oral and Poster presentations were conducted and the best oral and poster presentations were appreciated with certificates and Medals. Totally 15 colleges from Tamil Nādu and other states were participated.
