FIR initiated against BMRCL on Metro pillar collapse

Early this morning, a woman and a child died in an under-construction metro pillar collapse in Bengaluru.
The police reported that an under-construction pillar collapsed in Nagavara on the outer ring road in Bangaluru on Tuesday morning, which killed two people, including a child and a woman.

The woman was likely heading towards Hebbal with her husband and their twin sons when the pillar suddenly collapsed causing severe injuries to all four but a woman and her son scummed to death at the hospital. The victims were identified as Tejaswini and her son Vihaan,

Chandrashekhar, Additional CP East Division, Bangalore stated that the collapse occurred due to structural issues and an FIR registration on Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is under progress in deciding on the liable sections of the IPC. He added that the investigation is under process with expert advice initiation regarding the cause of the collapse.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Basawaraj Bommai assured compensation to the grieving family and ensured to initiate an inquiry action for the collapse.
