The Department of Communication at Dr. G.R.Damodaran College of Science in association with Chennai Academy of Motion Pictures is set to conduct the 5th Chennai International Short Film Festival on the 6th of September. The Chief Guests on the occasion will be Abinav Sunder Nayak, Editor, Anantham, Uriyadi, Kurangu Bommai and G.P. Krishna, Director of Photography and founder of MyBridge Film School, Chennai.
The Guests of Honor will be S.Kannan, President and Srinivasa Santhanam, Vice President, CISFF. The directors of the Festival are Vignesh Chinnadurai and Shanthi Vijaya, Deputy Director, CIFF, Coimbatore Chapter. The event is set to be presided over by D.Padmanaban, Correspondent. The felicitations will be done by Geetha Padmanaban, Secretary and T.Santha, Principal, Dr.GRD CS.
About 120 short films from across the globe will be screened for students who then will pick ideas while making their individual short films. The films to be screened comprise of award winning movies as well as some of the best short films made in the world last year and it is open for all. There are no charges whatsoever for watching these movies. The event will be on till 8th September and the genres included are fiction, documentary and animation.
