One Student One Tree

Recently, A mass tree planting programme called ‘One student one tree program’ was organized by Dean (Agriculture) in association with Dean (Horticulture) for the 1st year students of all the undergraduate degree programme in the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. The programme saw each student planting one tree during their first year and thereafter be taken care of till the completion of their course.

The inaugural programme was held in RI building premises where M. Jawaharlal, Dean (Horticulture),TNAU welcomed the gathering.
S. Mahimairaja, Dean (Agriculture) highlighted the usefulness of trees and giving appreciation certificate affixed with tree and student photograph at the end of their degree programme.  A total of 1000 number of tree saplings was planted in various locations in the university premises.

  1. Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor emphasized the values of trees in terms of its economic value and usefulness to human being. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by S. Subramanian, Professor and Head, Dept. of Floriculture and Landscaping.
