MSME Department guides industries towards sustainability – Green CO is now eligible under Q-Cert Scheme.

Department of Industries and Commerce has approved the Q – Cert scheme incentive for all MSMEs for Green Co rating via RC No.33808/LC3/2022-2 dated 22-12-2022.

Milton Ambrose John, Managing Director, Cotton Blossom (India) Private Limited thanks the Industries & Commerce Department, Government of TN for approving the Q – Cert incentive scheme incentive for all MSMEs for Green Co rating. He said, “The business has been very challenging and it will be more challenging with the new normal. Sustainability and technology will be the new biggest drivers in your business. There has been a lot of discussion on this subject in India & the other part of the world. Especially from western buyers.

It is becoming a norm for the sourcing team to buy from sustainable certified companies. CII at the national level has taken sustainability & technology as the main agenda for the years to come. The result of the same is adding the Green Co rating in the Q – Cert incentive scheme to enable more MSMEs to embrace sustainability through Green Co.

This will further leverage the Green Tirupur movement. With surplus Green energy producing district & with Zero liquid discharge in the dyeing & printing we as a textile industry has achieved what other similar industry cluster has not even dreamed off”

Mitlon, Chairman, CII Tirupur urges, the MSME unit to apply for the Green Co certification for adding value and be prepared for the future, where getting more business will be through sustainability.

CII Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Center, Hyderabad has been supporting and hand-holding various industries across the country with Green Co Certification.

Over 850 companies in India are working on GreenCo rating. Of these, more than 100 SMEs have already achieved green ratings and monetary benefits through its implementation. GreenCo-rated companies have reported recurring annual savings of Rs.3032 Crore and GHC emission reduction of 2.90 million Tons.

GreenCo covers energy efficiency, water conservation, renewable energy, GHG reduction, waste management, material conservation, recycling, green supply chain and product stewardship for the industry. Green Co will also improve the productivity of the MSME & SME industries.
