PSG to spark the city with ‘Kadambari 2023’

Owing to the New Year’s celebration PSG & Sons’ Charities is organizing a cultural fest, ‘Kadambari 2023’, from the 5th of January to the 8th of January. Dr JS Bhuvaneshwaran, Director, PSG Super Speciality Hospitals along with Shri AC Nandagopalan, Secretary, PSG Schools  and Dr.S.Vijeyajaya, Head & Associate prof., Dept of Carnatic Music, PSG CAS released the official poster of the cultural fest.

This cultural event was initiated in 2016 with a base to encourage and provide an opportunity for young artists to showcase their talents. This included the student fraternity of the entire PSG Institution. Following its success in 2019, the students of PSG Schools were part of the performers.

A wholesome cultural bonanza is open to the general audience irrespective of age. The current generation is driven by Western and more cinematic interest. Aiming to emphasize and imprint traditional art through the modern concept of interest, the cultural fest inspires many young people.

Ananth Vaidyanathan, India’s leading voice expert consented to inaugurate the Kadambari 2023. The first day is set to spark the audience with ‘Thirai Raga Kadhambam’, a musical concert based on popular ragas in the film industry, performed by the Students of PSG Institutions. Day two will witness a classical music concert ‘Nadhotsavam’ performed by the students of PSG Schools, which will be followed by a music concert by Dr. S. Ghatam Karthick and Airtel Supersingers.

The musical fun extends to the third day with a Classical Dance performed by Students of PSG Institutions for the first hour and later with a Music concert by Shri. SIKKIL C. GURUCHARAN & Team. The final day of the 4-day fest will be ignited with the Carnatic Music Concert by Students of PSG Institutions followed by the Yuva Kala Ratna award function Music concert by Sriranjani Santhanagopalan.

In this regard, Dr JS Bhuvaneshwaran, Director, PSG Super Speciality Hospitals, briefed the press on the subsequent events to be held and said, “Art improves focus and concentration. We provide a platform for the young artists of PSG and other industrial performers to showcase their best affinities.”

Dr.S.Vijeyajaya, Head & Associate prof., Dept of Carnatic Music, PSG CAS, added that the four-day cultural fest will witness a vivid exposition of both Carnatic music and classical dance by 60 student performers of PSG Institution. With about more than 2000 entries, the selected 60 were screened under various parameters. The dance concert will include 25 performers from PSG institutions.

Commenting further, Shri AC Nandagopalan, Secretary, PSG Schools, added that the involvement of school students is a notable show to witness their incredible talent. This is a source of bliss for the millennials and a perfect space for them to choose to begin their new year.
