PSG contribute an ultramodern drone to the city police

The Product Development group in the Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering of PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, has exclusively contributed a drone to the Coimbatore City Police during the 2-day International Conference on Advancements in Automation, Robotics and Sensing (ICAARS 2022).

The drone is built with a dropping mechanism, which significantly attains to procure a grenade system. It is proficient to drop four smoke grenades or tear gas at maximum, both at a single drop or multiple drops simultaneously. Reportedly the new drone is designed with an Internet of Things (IoT) connected solvent system and a megaphone system capable of providing audio notifications. 

The drone retains a total flight time of 25 minutes, 7 kilometres of flying radius, a culminating height of 50 feet, a speed of 80 kilometres per hour and weighs a total of 25 kilograms. 

L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities, on behalf of the Institution, delivered the drone to Dr. C. Sylendra Babu Director General of Police and Head of Police Force, Tamil Nadu Police, accompanied by V Balakrishnan IPS, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore and other official representatives.
