One of the world’s leading air compressor manufacturers, ELGi Equipments Limited, has completed a decade of successful partnership with the Coimbatore Marathon since its initiation in 2013. In this regard, the Coimbatore Marathon has displayed a Pre-Marathon Expo at Codissia, wherein brand sponsors and other brands flashed their products for sale.
Placing their stall at the expo, Dr. Jairam Varadaraj, Managing Director, ELGi Equipments Ltd., commented on their partnership that the company aims at an altruistic approach than a financial benefit. The very purpose of aiding the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation is what lies ahead. The sole intent is giving back to society in wholeness.
“We at ELGi are invariably perceptive to nurture the deprived social sector is a part of what we do. We express delight in partnering with the Coimbatore Marathon for a better cause and change in society,” he added.
Being a homegrown company and much involved in philanthropic goals, they run a Pre-School and ELGi Matriculation School at Vellalore, accommodating more than 1500 students and delivering free education to the poor and orphans. With about 80 students graduating annually, their service has been tremendous and consistent.
He reported that about 30 crores have been invested so far in educational pursuits as part of the CSR activity.
“Negotiating the quality of education with resources has never been our aim but to yield the best at the lowest as possible to those in need,” he commented.
In this 10th edition of the Walkaroo Coimbatore Marathon, Dr.Jairam Varadaraj announced his participation in the 5km marathon.
Moving further, Ramesh Ponnuswami, Executive Director- OSEA, ELGi Equipments Ltd., addressed that the 2022 marathon has witnessed an increase in the number of participants, which reflects the impact of the purpose of the marathon.
He added that the marathon listed total proceeds of 2.75 crores annually, operated for the welfare of cancer patients in divergent manners that include counselling sessions, awareness programs, treatment aids and much more.
