Health Minister inaugurates cutting-edge Cath Lab at KG Hospital

KG Hospital on Friday installed the state-of-the-art Siemens Artis Zee Biplane-Cath Lab. Health Minister Ma. Subramaniam inaugurated the Biplane Cath lab.

Electricity Minister V. Senthil Balaji, Coimbatore Collector Dr G. S. Sameeran IAS, Commissioner M. Prathap and Ex-MLA N. Karthik, KG Hospital Chairman Dr G. Bakthavathsalam, Vice Chairman Dr Ashok Bakthavathsalam, Vice Chairman Vasanthi Raghu and CEO Avanthika Raghu participated in the inauguration function.

Meanwhile, Health Minister handed over Nursing Excellence Certification to KG Hospital and released a book on Interventional Radiology.

The speciality includes a wide range of vascular and non-vascular minimally invasive image-guided procedures used to diagnose and treat every organ system, thereby providing faster recovery with less discomfort to the patient and fewer associated complications.

The main concept of interventional radiology is to minimize risk to the patient and improve health outcomes. The division of Interventional Radiology is equipped with a state-of-the-art biplane dedicated I lab and a 128-slice CT scanner providing 24×7 services for all emergency and elective procedures.

KG Hospital’s advanced stroke unit is equipped with some of the latest machines that include a Biplane Cath Lab, a dedicated stroke unit with advanced equipment, the “CODE STROKE” protocol, a 24×7 Stroke Specialist, Interventional Radiologist, a Neurosurgeon and Physiotherapist, an exclusive Neuro ICU and fully trained staff nurses.
