Coimbatore Vizha is the largest Celebration of the Spirit of Coimbatore by Coimbatoreans. The 15th edition of Coimbatore Vizha, scheduled from 2nd to 8th January 2023, was launched on Coimbatore Day, 24 November.
The official launch was presided over by Coimbatore District Collector G.S. Sameeran I.A.S. and Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Prathap I.A.S. The launch was followed by the release of the official Coimbatore Vizha Website.
Appealing to the concept of celebrating the city’s Water resources, it was reported that a series of events have been scheduled to be conducted across the lakes zones in the city.

Coimbatore Vizha is an initiative that brings organisations and people of Coimbatore together to acknowledge and appreciate the distinct history, culture and entrepreneurial spirit of Coimbatore through a series of week-long events including rallies, science fests, hackathons, music shows, marathons, art sessions and games.
The 15th edition of Coimbatore Vizha will have a week’s celebrations with 15 marquee events and over 100 events by various organizations across the city to celebrate the spirit of Coimbatore.
- Fountain of Dreams- Coimbatore’s first-ever synchronized Water fountain show, spread over a kilometre at the Valankulam Lake, will be a visual & musical treat. For the third time in Coimbatore, celebrating its lakes after the successful Royal Boat Show and Symphony by the Lake laser show in the previous years. This edition is expected to bring happiness and showcase one of the best-ever fountain shows in South India for thousands of Coimbatoreans.
- Marathon- As the first marathon of the calendar year participants will compete in 5Km and 10Km categories along with a special 2.5Km walk for senior citizens.
- Cyclothon- A planned cycling trail to ride your way through the iconic spots of Coimbatore and compete with the best riders in the city!
- Art Street- With more than 70 artists, this year Art Street features an amazing talent quotient of Coimbatore along with art workshops under one roof.
- Coimbatore’s Got Talent- A stage to showcase exciting talents across genres ranging from dance performance to skill or traditional art form that Identifies Coimbatore’s best!
- Agri Next- With a unique set of events organized for the many agriculturists, Agri Next has become a mainstay in Coimbatore Vizha with the support of TNAU and TNFGTB.
- Exotic Car Rally- A tribute to cars, from a car display to an exotic car rally, the dates and venue will be announced soon.
- Chef’s Plate- Coimbatore’s own answer to Master Chef, a space to showcase the unique culinary talents of Coimbatoreans.
- The Pitch- An incubating space for start-ups to pitch their innovative and disruptive ideas in front of our expert panel of judges.
- Isai Mazhai- College bands come out to perform at the lovely parks that Coimbatore has to entertain citizens with their talent and performances.
- Para Sports and Special Sports- In a bid to make Coimbatore Vizha inclusive for all sections of society, Paralympic sports shall be held to create awareness of differently-abled people and to build a more inclusive community.
The other significant events as part of the 15th edition of Coimbatore Vizha include Cultural Events, Chettinadu Thiruvizha, Unavu Sangamam and My Green Kovai.
