GRDCS commemorated the World Students Day

The School of Communication of Dr .G. R. Damodaran College of Science recently conducted “TRIDENT” to commemorate World Students Day and the birthday of the missile man, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.

A session on Stress Management titled “Tides of Hope” was organized by the School of Communication and “The Hindu Tamil Thisai”. Around 300 students from GRD Public School, GRD Matric School, PSGR Krishnammal School, National Model School and RGM Hr. Sec. School of grades 9th to 12th participated in the event.

Dharani M, Counselling Psychologist and M.S.Krishnan Kutty, motivational trainer & mentor served as the guest speakers of the stress management session. The”VIBE SESSION” intimated the students to fall in love with music by equipping various musical instruments like keyboard, violin and guitar played by the college students.

Finally touching upon the “FLASH MOB”, a wonderful and energetic dance performance which made the young students feel happiest and made all their stress run away at that moment. The entire venue was set up with an artistic appeal showcasing the artworks of the students. Photo booths for students were also arranged and were provided with a complete experience of the art exhibition.

Simultaneously, an Inter-school online competition “Hues” was conducted in honour of “World Students Day”. More than 30 school students participated in the online competition. The winners of the competition were awarded cash prizes and certificates.

The competition included Art & Craft, Nail Art, Mobile Photography and Face painting for both Junior (9&10th) and Senior (11&12th) categories. Each category was awarded 5 prize winners and 5 consolation winners. The School of Communication had also conducted a Public Relations campaign which would include educational stalls and food stalls for the students to end their day mesmerizingly beautiful.
