Chandrans Yuva Foundation joined hands with Coimbatore Corporation to install Free Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines and Incinerators in 25 corporation schools in Coimbatore.
C.Sivanesan, Founder and Shasikala Sathyamoorthy, Co-Founder of Chandrans Yuva Foundation handed over the machines to the Corporation Commissioner M.Prathap in the presence of Corporation Officials and Press & Media at S.R.P.Ammaniammal Girls Higher Secondary School.
Shasikala Sathyamoorthy shared that studies show more than 20 million girls drop out of school annually in India due to a lack of proper menstrual hygiene management facilities, which include the supply of sanitary napkins.
The Foundation will soon start installing the machines in all 25 schools and then it will also install Incinerators through which the students can easily dispose of the napkins. Training will be given to the sanitation workers at the schools to operate and manage the incinerators and the wastes
