
Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women organized a Seminar on ‘Preparing Women Students for the 21st Century Higher Education.’
Chief guest Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Governor of Telangana and Deputy Governor of Puducherry, in her keynote address advised the students to manage their time on productive activities.
Talking about the National Education Policy, she stated that it promotes gender holistic education and aims to promote the child from the classroom to a challenging global scenario. She appealed to everyone to study the NEP to understand the earnest ideals of the policy. She mentioned the welfare schemes that the government has implemented for women and to ensure 100 per cent literacy for women by becoming job givers from being job seekers.
Dr. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Vice Chancellor, Dr. T.S.K.Meenakshisundaram, Managing Trustee, S.P.Thyagarajan, Chancellor and Dr. S.Kowsalya, Registrar, were part of the program.
