100 years of the late founder G Ramaswamy Naidu – Suguna Groups

Suguna Groups organized a Centenary year celebration for the late G Ramaswamy Naidu, Founder of Suguna Group of Industries and Institutions, commemorating his 100 years.

Karnataka Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai unveiled the statue of the late founder, accompanied by Rajamani Ramaswamy, Trustee, V. Lakshminarayanasamy, Chairman Suguna group, L. Suguna, Director, Anish Lakshminarayanasamy, MD, Chandini Anish Kumar, Arun Ranganathan, MD and Archana Arun.

Falecitaion of Rajamani Ramaswamy was followed by honouring the guests Basavaraj Bommai, his wife Chennamma Basavaraj and Mahesh Bommai, brother of CM.

During the welcome note, V. Lakshmi Narayana Samy, Chairman Suguna group highlighted on the victorious achievement of the late founder. He made a specific mention of Ramaswamy being a recipient of the Rashtriya Samman award for five consecutive years. He said, “He never missed a chance to serve his country even during the last days of his life, by fulfilling his voting rights.”

He added on with a brief report of the academic and extracurricular achievements of students of the Suguna Educational Institutions. Suguna PIP serves to be the first school to have inbuilt a hi-Tech laboratory, alongside the institution takes pride in being the first to incorporate the ‘Kalari adimurai’ martial arts into the curriculum.

The late founder’s aim to provide hands-on experience led to the growth of these educational institutions. Listing up on the notable achievements he said, “A sound mind resides in a sound body”.

Commenting on the event, she expressed the joy of sharing a strong friendship with Basavaraj for the past 4 decades. Quoting back to her father’s relationship with Bommai the former CM of Karnataka and the father of Basavaraj Bommai, she mentioned that their friendship is passed over to the next generation as well. She said, “Basavaraj is a man of clean hands and his simplicity is crystal clear”. She added that both her father, the late founder and Bommai shared a common interest in uplifting the lives of the farmers and creating better irrigation facilities.

She quoted one couplet from the Thirukural which explains that the benefit a father should confer to his child is to give in the presidency in the assembly of the learned.

“I thank my father for making me the person who could positively contribute to the welfare of society. My father was a simple, kind-hearted and friendly man. He was a self-made man, who travelled far and wide to gain rich experience by interacting with many people from different walks of life”. She added a few experiences on how her father moulded her to live a simple life and carry a humble profile. She said he was her first hero and the best role model of her life.

Remarking on the 100 years of G Ramaswamy, Suguna announced the distribution of 100 blood sachets to the blood banks and allocation of Rs 5 cr for the skill development programs, which include AI developments, Big Data and much more. In addition, irrigation facilitation for 25 chosen villages as an aid to the farmers and providing 100 rural school students with skill-based requirements free of cost.

During his special address, he expressed his reverence towards the late founder G Ramaswamy. He mentioned all the humanitarian activities he was involved in throughout his life. He said, “Ramaswamy Ayya was not only a friend to my dad but was indeed a good friend to me and he is my God Father. He has always been an inspiration to me.”

“He is a very unique person and I’m yet to find a person like him”, he added. Being built by his own strong character, a hard-working industrialist with high visions served as a fatherly figure to thousands of his employees from all walks of life.

Highlighting his true value of life he said, “His love extended not just into the society but he valued relationships over money. He always held his family bound with love and affection amidst all situations. He never failed to care for his daughter or any of his family boundaries. “When I say family, he had a pure heart to accept every other customer as his family and rendered his best to them”, he added. Apart from being an ordinary leader, he ensured that virtues and good deeds are carried out by the people surrounding him as well. His influential character has led to the success of many in Coimbatore, especially the Ramanagara city of Karnataka. Quoting a few memories of him with the late founder, Bommai said, “Ramaswamy ayya is my lucky charm, who had cast the spell of success within me. His significant note to succeed independently, without being influenced by my father’s name created a change in me to achieve things my way.”

He concluded by expressing his great joy for being a part of his centenary event and requested them to observe the whole of the year as a note of gratitude for his social deeds.

Various well-wishers of the late founder praised his good deeds and humanitarian life.
