Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, (Deemed to be University), Coimbatore and Avinashilingam Educational Trust Institutions observed the 75the Independence Day with patriotic fervour and vitality. The NCC Cadets parade was followed by the flag hoisting by S.P.Thyagarajan, Chancellor, wherein he administered the NCC Pledge and the National Oath to the audience.
A detailed report presentation of the events conducted in the Institute was delivered in connection with the -Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
Managing Trustee Dr.T.S.K. Meenakshisundaram, in his presidential address emphasized the importance of independence and recollected the sacrifice of the freedom fighters. As a note of encouragement, he stated that together as one we can eradicate poverty and the progress of the Nation to great heights.
Chancellor S.P.Thyagarajan said, “ ‘Nation First’-this thought has been felt widespread with the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, 200 million tri-colour flags have been hoisted throughout the Nation as part of the Independence Day Celebrations which commenced from August 9, 2022. Today, the Nation is celebrating Independence Day in a vibrant manner.
In addition, he highlighted the achievements of the faculty and the 2040 vision road map created for the sustainable growth of the Institute.
Vice Chancellor Dr V. Bharathi Harishankar, distributed prizes to the winners of the various competitions conducted in connection with the Independence Day Celebrations.
The Controller of Examinations, Finance Officer, Assistant Registrar, the management members, trustees, Deans, HODs, Faculty, non-teaching staff and students actively participated in the Independence Day Celebrations.
