Kerala reports third Monkey pox case

The state health minister confirmed the third Monkey Pox infection in Kerala on Wednesday. The identified 35 YO individual from Malappuram district reportedly returned from UAE on July 6th. Eventually acquired fever on 15th followed by rashes resulting in the isolation of the individual.

Currently, he is under the surveillance of the Manjeri Government Medical College hospital. The medical reports confirm his general well-being and that his close contacts reported no symptoms of the virus.

Previously, Kerala reported the first case of Monkeypox on 14th July, followed by the second on July 18. All the reported cases were UAE returnees and are currently under isolation. The state alerted districts regarding the precautions and to have close watch against any rashes or symptomatic individuals.
