Kallakurichi SP transferred with immediate effect

Following the transfer of the 12 student’s death case to the CB-CID, Triplicane Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pakalavan, has been appointed as Kallakurichi Superintendent of Police. According to the reports, the district Superintendent of Police, Selvakumar, was transferred as an immediate action.

The CB-CID notified the deceased family to take custodial charge of the body to carry out the final rites and stated that an investigative team has been appointed to the probe.

On July 18, the Madras High Court ordered a second autopsy to be performed. Eventually, the first autopsy report by the police mentioned cause of the death was abrasion, several injuries and a haemorrhage.

The police imposed 144 to prevent further destruction, wherein the High court ordered to investigate of who instigated the violence.

An outburst of violence fled across the state following the death of a 12th-grade girl, reportedly having jumped from the hostel terrace of a private school in Kallakurichi after alleged torture from teachers.

Subsequently, 987 private schools across Tamil Nadu remained closed on Monday, condemning the violence following the school girl’s death.
