Taliban replaces females’ professional responsibilities

Since the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, they inflicted several restrictions on women. Recently, local reports stated that female employees were replaced by their male relatives.

According to sources, it stated that one of the female employees received a call from the Ministry of Human Resources asking her to replace her position with a male relative of hers, indicating the increase in workload. The woman stated she is the head of the business management ministry with an experience of 15 years and was asked to give up the position.

A statement by the United Nations stated that the restriction against women has resulted in the economic loss of up to 5% of the country’s GDP.

It added, “there is almost universal poverty in the country. An entire generation is threatened by food insecurity and malnutrition”.
