Lankan protesters refuse to depart PM’s office

As per the tweets from sources, Singapore has approved Gotabaya’s political asylum and is expected to flee to Singapore from the Maldives. The PMO officially announced Ranil Wickremesinghe as the acting President of Sri Lanka.

Following this, he declared a state of emergency and curfew across zones of protest.

Lately, the police threw tear bombs to evacuate the protesters from the Prime Minister’s Office. A state of panic still prevails as protesters are denied to depart from PM’s house and Office. Several police officials including a few protesters are reported to be injured.

Lately, speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, confirmed President Gotabaya’s resignation is expected to be received by this day. 

The Sri Lankan crisis has evoked support from various countries, wherein the people of Maldives staged a protest against Gotabaya to be sent out from the Maldives.
