The historic image from the Webb Space Telescope presents the deepest view of the universe running back up to 13 billion years. US president Joe Biden unveiled this image at the White House on Monday.

The telescope explores the genesis of the universe. The infrared image highlighted the massive galaxy clusters through the SMACS 0723 known as ‘Gravitational lensing’.  CNN reported that the Webb telescope presented a depth image of thousands of galaxies.

Biden said, “The images generated by the telescope show the power of American scientific leadership.”

Vice President Kamala Harris, who chairs the National Space Council, said, “This telescope is one of humanity’s great engineering achievements”.

It has been reported that the image release will include the Carina Nebula, WASP-96b, the Southern Ring Nebula and Stephan’s Quintet.
