Minister comes to parliament in Hydrogen Car!

As far as the sentiment of the public with regards to fuel-price hikes is concerned, it is a large dissatisfaction, and we could see that a small but steady portion of the people are turning to alternatives like electric vehicles.

Amidst such moments, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Transport Minister who is a key supporter of alternative fuels,  travelled from his home to the Parliament in a hydrogen-powered car on Wednesday.

Gadkari’s ride to the Parliament in that unique car is creating a sensational wave among automobile enthusiasts and onlookers! This car is said to be the first of its kind in India is drawing much attention, and Gadkari’s usage is a part of a pilot project on alternative fuels, according to sources.

It is made by Toyota, and it is called ‘Mirai’ “The car can reportedly cover 600 kilometres on a full tank, which brings down the cost of travel to just Rs 2 per kilometre. It also apparently takes just five minutes to fill the fuel tank of the vehicle,” NDTV reported.
