Pilot from TN dies after trainee aircraft crashes

A pilot flying a trainee aircraft died after the vehicle crashed in an open field in Telangana on Saturday.

The incident took place in Thungathurthy Village in Nelgonda city, Telangana on Saturday morning around 10:50 a.m.. Residents of the village came running after a loud noise occurred due to the crash. The deceased pilot was identified as Mahima Gajraj from Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to leading online news portal The News Minute, Nalgonda district SP Rema Rajeswari confirmed, “The trainee aircraft, a single seater Cessna 152 aircraft, belonged to the Flytech Aviation Academy, a flying school based out of Hyderabad. The aircraft had taken off from Macherla in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. Mahima had travelled this route several times before and was on a routine practice when the aircraft crashed.”

What caused the crash is being investigated by the police.
