Swarga Foundation’s main objective has been to improve wheelchair accessibility all public buildings. In Dec.2016, Swarga launched its ‘Accessible India Campaign’ to improve accessibility in government schools and public buildings in Coimbatore.
In April 2018; Swarga Foundation partnered with Vishwanathan Constructions an eminent civil construction firm in Coimbatore to construct a ramp for Coimbatore City’s Police Commissioner’s office building on Huzur Road. In the 2nd phase of this project, construction of a unisex wheelchair accessible toilet is in progress and should be operational for the public by Dec.2018.
Effective from 24thMay 2018, the ramp will provide all wheelchair users’ direct access to any of the officials based in the building. Swarga Foundation Managing Trustee Swarnalatha J, inaugurated the wheelchair accessible premises in presence of K. Periaiah IPS.
