Security Measures at Coimbatore Airport inspected

A joint inspection on Security measures at Coimbatore International Airport was carried out by a team of higher authorities on Sunday.

A report states that Kalyanaraman, Regional Director, Bureau of Civil Aviation (BCAS), Chennai, Pawan Kumar, Deputy Commandant, CISF and S.Senthil Valavan, Airport Director, Coimbatore International Airport did the inspection.

They inspected the cargo facilities, construction sites inside airport operational area, perimeter area and security operations control centre (SOCC). The Regional Director, BCAS felt satisfied on the overall security arrangements.

Following the site visit, an Airport Security Committee Meeting was convened. All airline operators, officials from Tamil Nadu Police, CISF, Oil Companies, Engineering Agencies, Commercial Contractors , Different AAI agencies participated.

In the meeting, the Regional Director of BCAS, highlighted on giving publicity on rules and regulations regarding operation of drones, to the people living near the vicinity of airport. It was decided to put up wall posters on airport perimeter wall to educate people on drone , UAV ( unmanned aerial vehicles) usage.
